By proclaiming the following words from the Old Testament, Jesus confirmed that they have been fulfilled in His own person.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Lk 4:18-19 ESV)

And from his own experience the apostle Paul stated,

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Cor 3:17 ESV)

Indeed, it is one thing to read about it and another thing to experience the truth of what is written in the Bible. I think you could compare it with head and heart knowledge. However, heart knowledge that always springs from our own experience never makes a detour round our mind so that we would be forced to believe something we could not also imagine. Although God’s logic and wisdom are not comparable with ours, He would never force us to believe something as long our mind says, “No – I can’t believe it.”

From Inspiration to Plagiarism

I want to be emphatic about the fact that there is a big difference between being inspired by writings or songs from others, so that some pictures or words unfold a certain abstract influence on our own works. That is normal and nothing which should be mentioned at all. We all get usually some inspiration from one another (unless we have been directly inspired by God), don’t we? Actually, we are no lonely clouds in the sky…

Yet it is not safe to copy in extract, whether unaltered or modified – even small pieces of others’, let’s say writings here, by working them up with one’s own works without revealing the source from which they were taken. To give it a name: that is plagiarism!

Although I have been hell-bent on publishing a new entry for many hours, I gave up on counting how often I began to rewrite this article by changing the subject and deleting my former ideas which I had already explained. Now I am finally at the point of saying, “Lord, if you don’t really guide me now, I won’t publish ONE word. Amen.”

No idea left in my mind, no wisdom, and no interest in any particular topic. Just waiting on Him…..

I decided to translate some parts of my spiritual diary from German into the English language.

Between January 2010 and December 2011 I described my everyday experiences with God in a very detailed way that displays how adventurous and surprising it is to walk in the Spirit with God and Jesus; actually, it could easily be compared with the ups and down while riding on a rollercoaster.

Perhaps this whole thing turns out a series – or not, since I never know beforehand what God nudges me to do or write in the very next moment. Well, this entry, at least is kind of the beginning of sharing my detailed records… 😉

Keeping a close eye on all different thoughts and impulses that come from the inside, I have been realizing that those things that I do not want to accept in me still make me feel like a prisoner and somehow urge me to project them on others in whom I (seem to) see what I hate to see in myself.

By nature I am a woman who wants to live in harmony with everyone – that’s my people pleaser problem. Although I have come to know that this pious hope actually is a pious fraud, I was afflicted recently by my old habit of trying to satisfy several people whose expectations on me could not have been more contradictory than they were and it would have needed about 48 hours a day of dealing with them.
Briefly, I was pooling all my human forces in order to reconcile what cannot be reconciled – by Susanne alone. Maybe, I was trying to do God’s job of making the impossible possible. Thank God, I failed. However, the lesson was painful, though…

You are being loved by Jesus – unconditionally at that

Today I want to focus on a group of men and women who really struggle with feeling what others don’t feel. Some people tell them that it is okay to feel that way (the liberal Christians) and some people often remind them that they are not the way God wants them to be (the conservative Christians).

As you might have already guessed it, I am speaking of homosexuals, respectively of all people who do not fit the picture of being “straight”. Actually, I do not want to canvass whether homosexuality is a sin or not because I think there has already been written that much about it. Rather, I want to point to the fact that all of us are being loved by God just the way He created us and that God alone can set us free from feeling any kind of condemnation as for our natural tendencies when He grants us access to the experience of His ecstatic spiritual love, i.e., AGAPE which includes EROS – that’s for sure.

Would you love to die for Jesus?

Whenever I find myself alone regarding my experiences with God and I am tempted to let myself go, there is only one thing I can do, and that is, to look at Him who knows how it feels to stand alone. Even though tears might fall down still, there is sooo much comfort in knowing that He endured the same. And surprisingly, God doesn’t want us to remain in our suffering as if there were no hope. Quite the contrary.

More and more I have been realizing that suffering is not the ultimate purpose but only the means to receive His joy at its fullest. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it?

FEAR NOT…

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."
