Just recently it has begun to dawn on me that this deluge of information trying to flood our minds every day can only be avoided by our own withdrawal. So, no abundance of words in this small blog post today. 🙂 Instead, I pasted the first three verses from Psalm 1 and added a few pictures I would take beforehand.
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. (Ps 1:1-3 ESV)
Beneath the last picture where the prairie dog is feeding on some healthy veggie food there is another Scripture that has just come to my mind. 😉

“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Mt 4:4 ESV)

Yes, a deluge of words. It is sooooooo easy to be swept away!

Those are great pictures, Susanne, and great scriptures. Both of them go together. In Corinthians we read,
“And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (2Cor 6:16, KJ2000)
For those in the Old Covenant keeping the “commands” of God was all about meditating on the books of Moses and all its laws. But for those who walk by faith, His commands come to us moment by moment for He dwells in us and walks in us as our living God. “In Him was life and the Life was the Light of men,” and it still is. Yes, we live by “every word that PROCEEDS out of the mouth of God.”
You and your daily walk have been an inspiration to me in this regard, dear sister. I thank Him for who your are in Christ every day.

Thank you for your encouraging words, Michael. 🙂
Yes, we need to hear His voice right now. If we do, then it is always The Living Word of God, whether HE speaks through Scriptures or by gently nudging our hearts to do something or to refrain from doing something. God is HERE and HE wants to speak NOW to everyone who longs to hear His voice.
Regarding the Scripture you quoted, which really fits, I decided to paste the following two verses of 2nd Coronthians, too, as they seem to confirm what has been said in Psalm 1.
“Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.” (2 Cor 6:17-18 ESV)
Thank you for being a friend and a brother, Michael! ⭐
In Christ,
Susanne

Yes, it seems that we really started to clearly hear His voice once we went out from them unto Him, “outside the camp bearing His reproach.” It is so wonderful to be in our Father’s arms, dear sister as we listen to His voice together.
You are sooooo welcome,
Michael

Michael, you so aptly worded it,
“Yes, it seems that we really started to clearly hear His voice once we went out from them unto Him, “outside the camp bearing His reproach.””
AMEN!
Let’s keep listenig to His Voice, my brother! 🙂

Hi Susanne 🤗
Wonderful post! & a confirmation of the verse I have been focusing on recently in which the Spirit has revealed more of what Christ is IN us.
Joshua 1:8 AMPC
“This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”
Joshua was given that command before David wrote Ps1 so David was clearly practicing that.
How blessed are we who now have the law written on our hearts of flesh, not stone, so that because of Christ IN us we can be more than just prosperous or successful, we can be satisfied now and have such a future to behold while resting in His finished work by faith. Accepted in the Beloved ❤️
Jesus tells us how meditation works now. HE is the Person Who fulfilled the Law and HE is our meditation and Bread.
Matthew 17:4-5 AMPC
4 Then Peter began to speak and said to Jesus, Lord, it is good and delightful that we are here; if You approve, I will put up three booths here—one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [composed of light] overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, This is My Son, My Beloved, with Whom I am [and [have always been] delighted.
Listen to Him!
Listening with you Susanne 🍯⛲️❤️

Judi and Susanne, the best part of that passage for me was,
“While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; HEAR YOU HIM.” (Matt 17:5, KJ2000)
They heard Moses and Elijah speaking as well as Jesus and to Peter they were all the same. God interrupted him almost mid sentence. He did not say “Hear the words of Moses” or “Hear the words of the prophets,” though He spoke through them at times in the past. What was most important to our Father was that (Peter and) we would hear the voice of Jesus when HE speaks. The Father sent us the Holy Spirit as an anointing we were to receive that would abide in us, the very Spirit of Christ so that we would have spiritual ears to hear His voice. “His sheep hear His voice…”
“These things have I written unto you concerning them that deceive you. But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him. (1John 2:26-27, KJ2000)
Thank you, Father, for all you have given us to lead us into all truth.
