Although I have been posting articles about discerning the spirits for almost 27 months now, I have come to realize that it is often times not possible to explain the difference between these emotions that move our soul habitually and, by contrast, those tender ‘nudges’ or even stronger impressions of restraint in our hearts by which God leads our spirits. Actually, we can only recognize what we have come to know ourselves, right? So, I simply want to tell you today what God’s leading is NOT about.
Important to know is that we as human beings tend to project our natural thoughts and feelings onto God. As we feel compassion for someone who is hurting or someone who was offended, attacked or rejected, we might confuse our feelings with God’s unconditional love. An honest answer to an acid-test-question might help us along here: “Do we feel love for our enemies just the same?” If we are all in tears because of having listened to a wonderful song, it must have sprung from God’s heart as well, we might believe. Also, if we basically know the difference between wrong and right Christian teachings and behavior, we feel we can discern the spirits. Brothers and sisters, this is all wrong! Our soul with its old nature (the flesh) is like a ‘little god’ walking on this earth, still trying to be like God without His intervention into our lives. As for confusing our soul life with God’s reality, we read in the Old Testament that God said,
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Is 55:8-9 ESV)
We must be cautious if someone tells us they know God’s thoughts and feelings. We must also be careful if we hear someone say they know what God is going to do in the future (esp. with ‘the church’). Everything we need to know about these things was written down by the prophets of the Old Testament, in the gospels, and mainly in the Book of Revelation. We do not need further revelations, esp. no detailed descriptions about how horrific the end times will be. We ought to be suspicious of people who claim to know something “new” that was not written in the Bible at all. That does not mean that God does not show us the things to come through the Holy Spirit (in dreams or visions, for instance). However, we ought to be very cautious when we hear or read something that contradicts the Bible.
Now I want to share with you what I experienced this week regarding my topic of being led by God or driven by another spirit. At Christmas I got a gift I did not really like although I did not admit it and I won’t do it, either. Why hurt someone who only wanted to bless me? Well, this gift has been a daily calendar, a fat book basically, in which there is not much room to jot something down. Instead, you find sayings by famous Christian authors, prayers by more or less famous people, (religious) life stories and a lot of advice as to how to live the Christian life. Dear reader, I really tried hard to find something I could LIKE… You might know that I have not read any book during the last 10 years since I lost interest in anything God has not put on my heart before. However, in this case (since it was a gift from a loved one), I tried a long time to understand their message or to find at least ANYTHING which might have come from God’s Spirit. Alas, it was as I had presumed before. This book calendar deals with how people can become better Christians by doing their Christian duties, by following the liturgical year and by being focused on Christianity, not on Christ.
Brothers and sisters, I know it is not their fault that these people do not have eyes to see, yet. But it grieves me to what large extent Satan has blinded the Christian world! It seems they are even content with what they do, whether they are more liberal or conservative. This is not important. However, they do not know the Living God! This makes me so sad. 😦 Just a few hours ago, I checked out another blog as the words of a commenter there jumped right into my face. You know, one of these self-appointed end time preachers who love to tell people if they do not listen to them, they will land in hell. Yuk!! I left this blog rather quickly and thought I won’t come back that soon due to the presence of wrong spirits. A blogger who allows the wrong spirits to enter his blog, will be driven by the wrong spirits sooner or later as well. In fact, if we do not block such responses, we will unknowingly submit to Satan by whom the commenter is driven. You might think I am overstating it here, but I have learned this lesson the hard way. As I had begun with publishing articles on Entering the Promised Land, I was happy to get ANY comment and ANY blogger like. It was not so important for me who these people were. The main thing was that I saw the number of comments increase and the blogger likes, too. However, this only happened if I myself had liked other blog posts and commented on their blogs as well. One hand washes the other, huh? 🙄 No, not so in the kingdom of God! This is worldly stuff, dear brothers and sisters. These times are over, and I am glad they are, since I cannot count my anxieties, those sleepless nights, my fear to be attacked by commenters and so on and so forth.
If you’re interested, here is another observation I made this week. About two or three days ago I had the idea to search for other bloggers who might be led by the Spirit of God in their writings. Not that my expectations were very high, but I had a little hope as I was browsing the net. Maybe, I could find only ONE blog where the writer listened to God’s leading before publishing something. Well, I found eight different spiritual blogs which is not much. Their blog names contained the compound word ‘spirit-led’ in one form or another. The first two blogs were written by women. Both of them listened to angelic voices and their gut feelings, thinking that was God’s voice. Number three and four were written by men who were convinced that sharing their convictions, creeds, teachings and doctrine was God’s will and leading. You see, women tend to confuse their emotions and intuition with God’s voice and men their intellect and reason. But I do know that there are exceptions like intellectual women vs. emotional men! The more blogs I checked out, the more my heart was sinking low… and lower… and…. There was only one woman on the eighth blog who had some spiritual insight. But alas, she adored her pastor who would tell his congregation how they could be spirit-led. Big sigh… Submitting to someone else and to God also does not work, but only causes confusion. This is so sad!! Indeed, if all people were spirit-led, we would not need any of this Old Covenantal stuff like churches with congregations, regular home church meetings, not even all these writings in books and on the internet! I am really dreaming of these days when what was written in Hebrews will have finally become reality for all of us.
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” (Heb 8:10-13 ESV)
Well this is interesting. Very interesting. In a recent effort to try and be less confused I got rid of several boxes of Christian books. I kept only a few that I thought would be ok. Like some that are just testemonies that I do find helpful. I was trying to keep things simple as I get into a lot of odd teachings and then get my self confused and in trouble. I have tried this before and failed. Any way one of my friends that knows I read a lot of Christian books got me 2 new books for christmas. I had never heard of the auther so I was not sure if I should even read them. I am still not sure. I feel like I am being cynical but after reading what you said in this blog maybe I am not.
Also I started my own youtube channel to share a few teachings now I am not sure if GOD wanted me to do that or not. I thought he did. I did catch my self yesterday after posting a video wanting to know what people thought and that was probably not a good thing.
I really hope to get better at knowing how to be led by the spirit. I know I am scared to be wrong. I mean to hear GOD and think that it was not GOD. That scares me. I have learned to be a bit more cautous though but still have a long way to go to be like you.
This does not have anything to do with your blog but I thought I would share it as I find it interesting. It is from Oswald chambers.
“(a) Amid a Crowd of Paltry Thing

(1 Corinthians 9:11–15)
The first thing a worker has to learn is how to be God’s

Christian worker must never make this plea—“If only
I were somewhere else!” The only test that a worker is

Now if only I could by like what he says there.

Fred, thank you very much for being so open and honest! ⭐ Although I might be a little more experienced as to discerning His leading from Satan’s or my own thinking, I still make mistakes.
Just yesterday I had thought I should like a blog post on another blog (and I did) as I found this strange comment there about ending in hell if ppl would not listen to their or similar messages/preaching. I am no universalist and I believe that hell exists, but I also know that Christ is our judge who alone knows men’s hearts and their eternal destiny. So, I am being cautious at judging or even condemning people. They still have time to repent and so I rather pray for them. Finally, I decided to remove my LIKE again since I didn’t like the comment that had been approved and welcomed by the blog author. In such situations my heart is grieved because I reacted to quickly. Removing my LIKE might hurt the author also, esp. if it is a woman or an emotional man. The intellectual type of believer instead, might simply wonder. 🤔
I believe Oswald Chambers was right. Discerning the spirits should never lead us to be mean toward others. However, telling them the truth in love might offend them at times, though.

Fred, if I may offer you some encouragement. I, too, have feared my being wrong. This attitude of heart leads to much striving and anxiety. Not only is that spirit not from our Lord, but faith and life in Christ isn’t to be focused on our “wrongness,” but on His rightness, His faithfulness and His ability to keep us in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). In what I believe was following His promptings, I rid my life of the over abundance of Christian books, daily emails, etc. two years ago. He had given me a desire to seek Him, to know His voice alone, not merely what others would say of Him. This is scary to a person who fears being wrong in spiritual things. But He is faithful, and can care for His own. This is not instant by any means, He leads us by small steps.
I just now finished reading something I had started before going to bed last night; a chapter in Andrew Murray’s book Abide in Christ called “In Stillness of Soul.” You may find something of value in it so I have added the link (Susanne, I do hope that is alright.): https://www.worldinvisible.com/library/murray/5f00.0562/5f00.0562.18.htm
Also, the entirety of Andrew Murray’s book is available online here: https://www.worldinvisible.com/library/murray/5f00.0562/5f00.0562.c.htm

Dear Becky,
Thank you so much for weighing in on here. Your contribution, I believe, is very helpful! ⭐ Fred and I found out in a previous comment thread that we are perfectionists by nature and that is where our making-mistakes-fear-and-problems spring from.
I do not know Andrew Murray, but I asked the Lord what to do, followed your first link and read my favorite Bible verse right at the beginning:
“In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”–Isaiah 30:15 🙂
And reading the last paragraph there also spoke to my heart. Murray said,
“”Abide in Christ!” Let no one think that he can do this if he has not daily his quiet time, his seasons of meditation and waiting on God. In these a habit of soul must be cultivated, in which the believer goes out into the world and its distractions, the peace of God, that passeth all understanding, keeping the heart and mind. It is in such a calm and restful soul that the life of faith can strike deep root, that the Holy Spirit can give His blessed teaching, that the Holy Father can accomplish His glorious work. May each one of us learn every day to say, “Truly my soul is silent unto God.” And may every feeling of the difficulty of attaining this only lead us simply to look and trust to Him whose presence makes even the storm a calm. Cultivate the quietness as a means to the abiding in Christ; expect the ever deepening quietness and calm of heaven in the soul as the fruit of abiding in Him.”
That is exactly what I have experienced during the last two days. WOW!! Thanks a bunch for sharing, dear Becky!!! ⭐
Much love to you! ❤ ❤ ❤

Excellent, Becky! Andrew Murray was an excellent Christian author who knew about God’s rest and love from his own life experiences. I just got out one of his books to read again that I have, “The Spirit of Christ.” I will look through it and see if God wants to speak to me through it. I am not into reading whole books any more. 🙂

Thank you both. I realize an error in my comment though. There was another reason I had got rid of a bunch of books. I remember I was going to get rid of all books but the bible it self. I had changed my mind on that as you can see from the first comment. Any way what I forgot about while commenting was I had watched a video by some one who points out things like this blog does. I mean pointing out the bad stuff in some books. I was not sure which ones were bad or not so that lead to what I mentioned above. I apologize for my neglect in saying that.
Any way thanks again.

Upon reading your article I understand how you feel for I attend a conservative church and I hear the same old stuff every week—We have to obey—But not once have I heard about anyone in that church say—I have been crucified it is no longer I that live but Christ in me—and when I say to them–Yes and now the life I live,I live by the faithfulness of Christ and thus I will obey—-and they say No we have to obey—Here is a quote from Thomas Torrance that sums the situation—Far from crushing our creaturely nature or damaging our personal existence, the indwelling presence of God through Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit has the effect of healing and restoring and deepening human personal being. So I say—put that old covenant away and enjoy the New Life Covenant!—-Its much more joy and a whole lot less frustration.

Oh boy, once again I found your comment in my WordPress trash folder, Ken! 😝 That makes me wonder how it got there, indeed. 🤔
I like the TT quote you shared! ⭐
As for you attending this church, I thought you were looking for fellowship, which is a good thing, for sure. But I was truly wondering how you could find it there “in depth” if you and these believers do not listen to the same Head of the Body of Christ…? Where and when is unity of the Spirit possible then as Jesus only shows up when two or three are gathered in His name, all of them obeying Him… 🤔

Yes I see your point but let me explain—I was going to a nice little small non formal gathering and then things went downhill over the issue of”unity” I was seeking for Papa to show me what to do—One Sunday I got sick and could not go to the meeting and I waited to see if they would call me to find out what had happened but got no call–so next Sunday I did not go just to see if they would perhaps call me,no call–So I Spoke to Father and said well is this my opportunity to depart and if so where shall I go? He said yes this is your chance and now I want you to go to this other place but do not become a member–Just go to observe,I have things I want to teach you—This other place is having the same “unity” problem and the source is the same issue,so I now understand why church groups do not have unity. They keep holding onto old covenant mind sets and know not how to live under Gods New Covenant principle.OK so now I see–Whats next Papa?

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation, Ken. This is really saddening what you have experienced there. People seem to be so focused on their own life and church gatherings that they hardly notice how they should react when someone is missing. 😦
As you have observed yourself, unity gets all the more a problem when more and more people are involved AND they listen to their different old nature’s voices, still. I have come to know several churchgoers here, too. Although it happens at times that we pray together (one of them is a neighbor, the other a tutor kid of mine), I rarely sense unity in the things we might pray for from our very hearts. They are so much influenced by what their church taught them to do and to pray for. Very sad! 😦

Ken, I have had the same experience, even worse in more overt forms of rejection among the churches because of Christ in me. It has been so bad that I rarely seek true fellowship in the churches.
I have a dear brother in Christ who I have had many years of fellowship with as we have shared experiences and the scriptures, but he rarely calls or comes over to see me. I almost always have to be the one who initiates the contact. It is like trying to clap with one hand. His wife told me that he was like that with everyone. Yet, he is so warm and welcoming when I go to his house or meet with him. I one time pointed out to him how I felt about this. “Do you know where Paul says we are all members of one another and the hand can not say to the foot, ‘I have no need of you because you are not a foot'”? Well, that is how it feels for me when I have to initiate all our times together… that you have no need of me.” All he said was, “I can see how you might feel that way.”
I think that in Christendom we are more theoretical and objective in our joining to one another than we are subjective. We are more mental than we are heart to heart… where we suffer loss if something happens to a member of Christ’s body. It should not be this way, but it is. I thank God that He finally put me in touch with a member of His body that I can be heart to heart with and it keeps growing deeper and deeper into the very presence of the Father and the Son… ONE!

When I go missing from my church or the church I have gone to. I have not been there in a few weeks. A friend that lives across the street from me goes there and so does a co worker so they do notice when I am gone. My friend across the street actually said something. He is a nice guy. I do think people worry about me when I am not going. some times I feel like I am judging them in a bad way for going. I don’t much like thinking negatively of any one. I know I have spoken about things I don’t like people doing like the person who does that bible study I was in that I think Michael called a cult. I may say some thing he has done that I don’t agree with, I mean the bible study leader but I feel bad for saying anything bad about him. I have brought up my concerns about him to GOD. What is interesting is something when I bring up a concern to GOD that was in the bible study a few bible studies latter the leader of the bible study changes his mind on the thing I had a concern about. It has been pointed out to me that I am like kind David when he didn’t want to speak badly against king Saul. Ok I kind of rambled a bit there.

Fred, yours was the sixth comment I just found in my trash folder on WordPress. Sigh… No clue why… 🙄
I have wondered whether we might confuse saying ‘bad things’ about someone with disagreeing with them. Although it might be obvious that it is not the same thing, the diplomatic and nice people pleaser that wants to be kind toward everyone (in order to be loved!) does not easily dare to speak up for the truth (referring to my old nature’s personality here).

It is odd how much you and I are alike yet still different. I need to get over my people pleaser mentality. I learned it is not hate or mean to speak the truth to some one or about some one. It is hate not to say something though. I think I learned this before though and then some one got mad at me for speaking to them in love the truth.

Yes, it is always hard for me, too, when I think I spoke the truth in love and the other one gets mad at me. Sooo hard to move my thoughts away from this occurence afterwards then. It is always only prayer that helps me to get rid of these bothering thoughts, finally. But what a struggle before! 😛

I agree with your quote from T.T., Ken. It helps me when I can define what the NEW Covenant is. I find that most Christians cannot. It is all in Hebrews ch. 8…
“For finding fault with them, he says, Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, says the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he says, A new covenant, he has made the first old. Now that which decays and grows old is ready to vanish away.” (Heb 8:8-13, KJ2000)

Hi Susanne,
This post speaks exactly to my present condition: I must find out what God says in his word, then ask him for the correct interpretation. I have been poring over a particular topic in this way for some time, and have only been reading a very small amount written by other humans…yet, when I read your title in my email, I knew I was to read this post. Naturally, it is confirmation of what I have been doing…the Spirit leads and teaches the way we should go.
Many blessings to you, my sister!

Susanne, this was another thought provoking article by you, for sure. Someone pointed out to me that people give away whether they respond to something out of emotions or in a mental way. The emotional will say, “I feel that (thus and so),” whereas the mental types will say, “I think that (thus and so).”
I agree that we need to be wary of those who come to us and say, “God told me to tell you…” or of the many would be “prophets” who are out there trying to say something that is profound in order to get a following or sell books, tapes, etc. There was a guy here locally who was well known in Christian circles who prophesied that we were going to be plunged into a nuclear winter at midnight on New Years Eve 2000. He said that all the computers that controlled the missile launchers would freeze up because their software could not accommodate that date and as a result they would go to “fail safe” mode and launch their missiles. Well, that moment came and went and nothing happened other than his organization sold lots of standby generators and survival food and books to the gullible Christians who followed him. He later moved to New Zealand after losing most of his credibility with people in this area. Funny thing, though, his most ardent idolaters still would not admit that he was a false prophet. Such is the way of idolaters.
There is so much idolatry involved with Christmas and Easter! But when the church was still young nobody celebrated the date Jesus was born. Some of the Jewish believers still celebrated the Passover, but not because it was the day of Jesus’ death. These were people who had a heart connection with the Living God and Jesus was there with them wherever they went. It was not about feasts in His name or was it about shrines and special buildings constructed in His name. That came much later in the 4th century. Like Jesus, their kingdom was NOT of this world! So, to get a calendar/book that was filled with the traditions of men, like you did, it would not be a blessing for me, either. I have a saying, “Why eat sucker fish when you can have Copper River salmon?”
The angel said, “Why seek you the living among the dead? He is not here, but HE IS RISEN!”
Good question!
Like
Michael,
I have had this Scripture God once made alive to you as you were still sitting in a pew at church on my mind as well. I believe it is impossible to seek the Living God (who shares His spiritual life with us as we focus on the unseen kingdom of God inside us while praying to our Father) in the midst of believers who have another goal that is rather short-termed and more tangible as this is more pleasing to the flesh.
I agree with the “I feel thus and so” and “I think thus and so” types you mentioned. There is a whole bunch of them (all of us in our old nature). But you and I might know that if God points us to something, instead, we usually cannot explain it, neither with our normal feelings nor with our logic. However, it is even more real than our reason and emotions! It is a sensation made with our spiritual senses, so to speak. And woe to us if we ignore it! 😦 Disobedience toward His voice makes us first lose His peace. As unpleasant as it is, it is good that God convicts us then, sooner or later, of having been disobedient to His leading. But we know that He is a gracious God who helps us repent if necessary.

Hello Susanne!
I finally had a chance to read your post today. Wonderful reading the real life processes going on in your life and the commenters regarding discernment.
Such a KEY ISSUE!
I too did a purge of many books and tapes a few years back. I also have found no place to “lay my head” locally, so to speak. Maybe I should say the Lord’s Head? My “head” only gets me in trouble lol – like you quoted in Isaiah 55:8-9
IMO I kinda doubt that the internet will ever have many blogs that are Spirit-led since the flesh enjoys the fame (and sometimes fortune) of tooting their toy trumpets and stirring the pot. There is often poison in their pot and the Cross needs to be applied in earnest to the whole mess.
MY WAY or the HIGH-WAY of Holiness is the choice 🙂 Ummm – kind of a no-brainer choice – literally LOL…
Seems to me that there are some excellent reinforcements to help us in some books and audio messages but God also seems to like removing the “crutches” we tend to use in the same.
Case in point:
Numbers 11:29English Standard Version (ESV)
29 But Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? Would that all the Lord’s people were prophets, that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!”
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers+11%3A29&version=ESV
I would also like to add an excerpt from TAS from 12/23/17 “Open Windows”:
“…God in sovereignty will run the risk of shattering, or allow the shattering,of so much that He has used of scaffolding or framework in order to realize the fuller purpose. It is not that it was wrong, but now He
wants something more. We thank God forever that He took Paul away from his traveling ministry and let him be shut up in prison. It was then
that the full, glorious vision and revelation of the “heavenlies” and
the “eternal” was given to eclipse all the earthly and temporal. It
was worth it, and was no tragedy! The Holy Spirit is the custodian of
the full purpose of God, and under His government the Church and the
individual believer will move ever on and up.”

🙂 Much Love in Christ to you, Susanne, and ALL the saints. XOXOXO

Thanks, Judi. I also doubt that the internet will ever have many Spirit-led blogs, yet sometimes I wonder whether Michael and I could really be the only bloggers who wait on God’s leading until they speak up? 🤔 There are indeed countless Christian websites and some spiritual blogs, too. But sometimes I sense that writers submit to their ‘audience’ instead of following God’s leading. And then the falling away from good beginnings can take place. 🙁 Just lately I saw a blog where someone rightly observed what was wrong with the church system and Christianity on the whole, yet they drew the wrong conclusions. Therefore fellowship is needed. We are no loners who are always right. Correction and admonishing are as important as encouragement and edification are.

Well said, Susanne! The thing that makes us think that we are alone is that the net is over-run with bloggers and writers that seek to make a name for themselves, but there are a few who only want to glorify Christ by following His Spirit. T. A. Sparks has really been an inspiration to us just because of this and his writings will last where that of the flesh blows away like so much chaff. What a sweet fellowship God has given us who walk after His Spirit. ⭐

Amen, Michael. Our spiritual fellowship was such a precious gift from God! ⭐ Sparks has both been an inspiration and a confirmation of my own experiences for me so that it sometimes feels like a fellowship of three (TAS included). 🙂

Agree 101%
We have to be able to receive correction.
If the Spirit is not speaking there is no life in the conversation and we are left with the “earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. What a waste 😦
James teaches about the two kinds of wisdom:
James 3:14-18English Standard Version (ESV)
” But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+3%3A14-18&version=ESV
I don’t know if you and Michael are the only blogs that wait on the Lord for HIS thoughts before posting but thus far you are the only two I have found. There is a fine line to walk I think and it could be, in a way, like when Nik Wallenda walked the tightrope across the Grand Canyon. Quite unlikely that too many others would follow suit…
Hugs!

Strange, Judi… After replying to your other response, I found this other response by you in my trash folder. 🙄
What is so dangerous about the wisdom from below is that it often might look like godly wisdom in the beginning. It is only later that we sometimes detect that we fell prey to the lies of another nice, but egotistic person. When all the glamor is gone, we see that there was only ‘purity’ on the outside. We might detect that they are “like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So [they] also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within [they] are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Mt 23:27-28 ESV – I replaced ‘you’ with ‘they’)

Hugs my sister!

Dear Judi,
Since I never watch the News, I did not know who Nik Wallenda was. As I looked up his name on the net, I found a picture taken in Arizona where you see Nik Wallenda with Joel Osteen. Interesting combination, these two… 🙄
Thank God, our spiritual narrow path is not as dangerous for our health as walking a tightrope across this or another abyss!

That is interesting, isn’t it… Just copying and pasting an excerpt from Wikipedia.

Am I taking things too far if I assert that both Joel Osteen and Nik Wallenda might be spirit-driven instead of Spirit-led by God? 🙄

Strange bedfellows, these two. How far is all this from “The Purpose Driven Life” doctrine? If we abide IN Christ we are NOT “driven.” There is no driven-ness in God’s rest. The Good Shepherd leads as He goes out before His sheep and calls them by name (see John ch.10). Sheep HERDERS drive their sheep with dogs and know not their names. Their is a vast difference between the world’s commercial methods of handling people (organized religion) and God’s ways… heart to heart relationships in His love!

Amen, Michael! ⭐
Interesting… Rick Warren fits in here, too, as it seems regarding his book you just mentioned in your comment.
