As I was just reading the whole chapter 26 from the prophet Isaiah, I began to wonder whether there might be a connection, a similarity to what the whole world is going through due to this pandemic coronavirus right now. Here in Bavaria after the case of disaster has been announced, everything has become chaotic. People have begun to act crazily, even insane at times. Dear brothers and sisters, even if we have to stay at home due to a ban on going out, I believe that God can help us out in everything. We won’t die of famine if we trust in Him, we won’t be ‘contaminated’ due to a lack of toilet paper or hand soap, and we will be able to experience joy and peace as the apostle Paul and Silas did when they were in prison (see Acts 16:25).
Please, Lord, protect your people and all those who do not believe in You from going astray and from believing in other gods. Help those who do not know You yet to repent and to turn to You. For there is only one God in Jesus Christ who can help all of us through and out here. AMEN!
Below I pasted the whole chapter 26 from Isaiah (ESV – emphasis and spaces added).
1 In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. 2 Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. 3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
5 For he has humbled the inhabitants of the height, the lofty city. He lays it low, lays it low to the ground, casts it to the dust. 6 The foot tramples it, the feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.” 7 The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous. 8 In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. 9 My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
10 If favor is shown to the wicked, he does not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness he deals corruptly and does not see the majesty of the Lord. 11 O Lord, your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. Let them see your zeal for your people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for your adversaries consume them. 12 O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. 13 O Lord our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we bring to remembrance. 14 They are dead, they will not live; they are shades, they will not arise; to that end you have visited them with destruction and wiped out all remembrance of them.
15 But you have increased the nation, O Lord, you have increased the nation; you are glorified; you have enlarged all the borders of the land. 16 O Lord, in distress they sought you; they poured out a whispered prayer when your discipline was upon them. 17 Like a pregnant woman who writhes and cries out in her pangs when she is near to giving birth, so were we because of you, O Lord; 18 we were pregnant, we writhed, but we have given birth to wind. We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth, and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen. 19 Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! For your dew is a dew of light, and the earth will give birth to the dead.
20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by. 21 For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain.
Let us trust in God and try to follow His leading in all things!
God’s Love and Peace to all of you,
❤️ Susanne ❤️

Amen to your prayer, dear sister. Isaiah 26 really speaks to what is going on these days and in Whom we must place our trust and rest our hearts in Him. Thanks for sharing this.

That’s a very timely word for the day, dear sister! It’s a word I have received multiple times in these years. All it takes is a little microscopic agent to shake everything that can be shaken. I believe the repercussions will be like a tsunami, which comes suddenly and its effects span all areas and last for years.
Indeed, this is a rude awakening which I hope will show us how fragile our security really is and where our true safety lies. I hope it will also lead many to repentance and true faith, because without God this can only get worse (they may find a vaccine for this disease, but others will come and it seems gradually plagues are becoming worse and more dangerous).
I’m staying home for a month because of my asthma which is giving me a hard time. I have asked my husband not to leave the house except for necessary shopping. Though we can trust God for protection, there is a difference between faith and presumption and I believe here we should prayerfully follow the scientists’ recommendations and our authorities.
Unfortunately, in my country, which already has 65 CONFIRMED cases, many people are laughing at this. Some are going to the shopping mall with the kids and even going on vacation! We had a case of a personal trainer who came back from the US, didn’t accept to be quarrantined and attacked the security guard who tried to stop him from leaving his building. Same thing that happened in Italy and Spain before all hell broke loose. That’s the Argentine “it won’t happen to me” mentality at its worst. And with our health system that’s in collapse without an epidemic, this has the potential of being worse than Italy.
What’s worries me the most is older people like my parents who don’t have private health insurance and in the event of shortage of ventilators will be sent home without assistance (my dad has asthma too, and is an unbeliever). So we pray that God in His sovereignty will cover our loved ones even if they aren’t crying out to Him YET. May He have mercy on us all!

Thank you, dear Carina! ❤ Good to hear from you again. 🙂
I fully agree with your observations above. So sad that you must stay at home right now. 😦 I have (allergic) asthma as well but only when pollinosis gets really bad. I too agree that we must always follow our authorities unless they tell us something to do which is against God’s declared will. The apostle Paul told us clearly here,
“Submission to the Authorities
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.” (Rom 13:1-7 ESV).
Please, our Father in Heaven, protect Carina, her husband, their kids, and also keep her parents safely in the days ahead! Amen.

Just another thought, Carina, regarding your dad who does not believe like you do yet.
When Paul and Silas were in prison praising God, they were finally freed by the Philippian jailer who asked them,
“Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30-31 ESV)
I also recall that there are other Scriptures in the Old and in the New Testament that confirm that unbelieving family members (esp. offspring and spouses) will be saved due to only one person of this family who trusts in God. I believe that God who is not limited by space and time already sees us and our unbelieving family members as one in Christ.

En el amor de Jesús
Susanne
I answered her,
Yes, dear Adriana, this obsession with toilet paper is incredible, here as well. A psychiatrist said that such people somehow want to control the uncontrollable through panic buying. It is the only way they can DO something! So we should have empathy with them. Nonetheless, the shelves are being emptied daily, again and again. Sanitary articles, pasta, canned food, bread, even fruit and veggies now. Since Friday it has become a horror here! 😛
In Jesus’ Love,
Susanne

Patricia XOXOXOXOXOXO

“Sorry Susan, so far I read the message, this has been crazy, going out here is quite an odyssey, even days women go out, odd days men go out. The lines anywhere are long, I leave home and arrive three hours later without exaggeration.
My mother had an allergy, I fell at home, we are both fine.
People are going crazy, eating compulsively, the news floods, Christians talk about conspiracy theories, looking at all the prophecies to know which trumpet we are going to, others support the government and others speak badly. People are in a kind of neurosis.
I just hide in the arms of Jesus and rest in Him, He has everything under control.
I hope you are well, you and all your family.
A hug. Patricia XOXOXOXOXOXO”

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
I answered her,
Dear Patricia, ❤️
You described this current mess in the world really well, same spirits and behavior here in Germany!
I am very sorry to hear about your mom’s allergy and your fall at home. 😦 You are both in my prayers. ❤️🙏❤️
It seems this chaos cannot be avoided and if we do not seek protection from God, we can easily be affected by this neurosis all around. Thank God, Paul and I survived the coronavirus with which we fell sick more than three months ago. The doctor did not test us properly and so we thought at first that we had suffered from an influenzavirus of sorts instead. What concerned me the most were the heart pains I had, like a heart attack for days, even last week again. As God whispered into my ear, “Take Aspirin!” I did and that helped to calm down the pain as it is a blood thinner.
Back then we had high fever for days, a loss of taste and smell, pains all over, no strength and appetite any more, and this bad cough. Our volume of the lungs is still smaller than before and we are both short of breath. Having been a sportswoman almost all my life, I feel like my own grandmother at times or at least twenty years older. But God is in control, He knows why He lets us suffer.
Much love and a big hug to you, my sister! ❤️🤗❤️
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

May God watch over you and yours as well in the days ahead. We live in uncertain times as it seems. But God’s Word is certain and eternal. The One whose “name is called The Word of God” (Rev 19:13 ESV), namely our Lord Jesus Christ promised us,
“Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death.” (Jn 8:51 ESV)
Much love to you,
Susanne ❤

Thank you for your encouraging words, Anna! Yes, they try what they can as long as they can do it. Some French people were brought to German hospitals lately, too.
I have been watching the development of the corona crisis on the net (here) and I saw how quickly the virus spreads everywhere, esp. in big and mega cities. Wasn’t New York City where things got so bad lately your hometown? 🙄
May God keep you and protect you, dear Anna!! ❤
